This privacy policy describes how PageScan Pro (“the app,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you install and use the application distributed through Google Play and related channels.
Summary
PageScan Pro is a document scanning app for Android. Scanned pages and PDFs you keep are stored on your device in the app’s private storage until you open, share, export, or delete them. We do not sell your personal information. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs in the current release.
Document capture uses Google ML Kit Document Scanner through Google Play services. Scanning UI and models may be downloaded by Play services; scan processing is designed to run on-device. PageScan Pro is not a “no network / no Google” app.
Information the app processes
Depending on how you use the app, the following may be processed on your device:
- Document page images and PDFs produced by the scanner flow and saved in PageScan Pro’s local scan library.
- Display names and metadata for recent scans (for example, title, page count, and dates) stored locally.
- PDFs you open with PageScan Pro from other apps when you choose PageScan Pro as a viewer (read for display; not uploaded by us).
- App preferences stored locally on your phone.
We do not require you to create an account to use PageScan Pro.
Information we collect
We do not intentionally collect personal information such as your name, email address, or the contents of your scans through the app itself.
The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics in the current release.
Optional communications
If you contact us by email (for example, at admin@thesoftwarebodega.com) or through our contact form, we receive the information you send (such as your email address and message content) so we can respond.
Permissions and Google Play services
PageScan Pro does not request the Camera permission for its own process. The Google document scanner flow is provided by Google Play services, which may use camera access under Google’s control during scanning.
On first use (and when updates are needed), Play services may download scanner components. That may require network connectivity managed by Google Play services.
Third-party platforms and components
- Google ML Kit Document Scanner / Google Play services — provide the scanning experience and related on-device models. Google’s handling of Play services and related data is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
- When you obtain the app through Google Play, Google may collect install, usage, diagnostics, and purchase-related information under Google’s privacy policy. That collection is governed by Google, not by us.
How we use information
We do not use your scan content or personal information for marketing profiles. Any support message you send is used only to provide support or improve the product based on your request.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
If you share or export a PDF (or open a file in another app), that action is controlled by you and by the destination you choose.
Data retention
Scans stored in PageScan Pro remain on your device until you delete them in the app or clear app data / uninstall. Files you export to another location remain there under your control. Support messages are retained only as long as needed for support and business records.
Security
Scans and settings stay on your device under your control. Use your device lock screen, OS privacy settings, and careful sharing practices to protect documents you digitize.
Children’s privacy
PageScan Pro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Choose when to scan, open, share, export, rename, or delete documents.
- Stop using PageScan Pro as a system PDF viewer by clearing defaults in Android settings.
- Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove the local scan library and settings stored by the app.
- Contact us to ask questions about this policy.
International users
If you use the app outside the United States, processing occurs on your local device (and via Google Play services on your device as described above) and, if you contact us, support communications may be handled in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
